Meet Ellyn Goldstein
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a private practice in Westlake Village, CA. I specialize in working with adults who have experienced traumas such as emotional, physical and sexual abuse, natural disasters, accidents, chronic medical conditions, and community or political violence. In addition, I also work adoptive parents and adult adoptees. I have extensive experience working with parents and their young children.
With over 15 years experience as a practicing clinician, my Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy is from California Lutheran University. My undergraduate degree is from the University of California at Berkeley in Anthropology. In addition, I earned an MBA from the University of California at Los Angeles.
I am active on the Board of Directors of my professional organization, the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists Throughout the 10 years that I have served on the Board, I served as the President in 2011 and again in 2013. CAMFT has provided a community of support for me that is helpful both professionally and personally.
In addition to working as a private practitioner, I have had 10 years of experience working in the non-profit world, where I worked with abused women and children and served as the agency's trainer in Parent Child Interaction Therapy. Since 2011 I have worked at California Lutheran University as a clinical supervisor of the second year master's students working toward their degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I also teach classes in CLU's MFT program, which have included specialization classes for second year students in The Recovery Model of Mental Illness and Psychological Trauma.
